Computers for sale also includeds various hardware will also be added to include computer monitors, memory, motherboards, hard drives (to improve disk space), power supplies, towers, and related hardware.  Hot brands currently are Toshiba, Apple, Compaq, Dell, Gateway, and HP brands, with Sony and emachines not too far behind.  Note: if buying a new computer, keep in mind that the newer Vista operating system eats up more memory, so you need to offset this with higher memory specs.  To help your PC run faster and smoother, using DDR memory (which is superior to SDR memory), with at least 512mb is reccommended.  1GB or higher is preferred, especially if running multiple applications and/or a gamer.  To take advantage of Microsoft Vista, you should be using a duo processing setup.  Dual or even quad processors create both redundancy and diversity, which means your PC has both more power and extra processors for running unique applications for efficiently.  Even the Celeron and related more affordable brands, are more powerful today, with their dual and quad processors, than the best of home based consumer type computers just a few years ago.  If just surfing the net, their is a debate whether a $100.00 3 year or older computer doesn't work as well as a newer model.  Most consumers are limited by their internet capabilities by the Internet Service Provider, or they just need to increase their PC performance by adding an additional or higher spec memory stick.

Some computers for sale will vary from vintage such as used pentium I through pentium IV used PCs to new models with recent Windows Vista installed.  Cheap deals on used PCs may have Windows XP Pro or earlier versions.  Some of the monitors range from CRT flat screens of 17" or above, to the older tube screens.
